Fire Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice – Full Time
Great entry level career opportunity! Contractor Fire Protection is currently seeking a fire sprinkler apprentice to learn and assist in the installation of fire protection piping, valves, and accessories for commercial and residential fire protection projects. Opportunity for growth as a fitter then foreman.
Responsibilities
- Assist foreman in the installation of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems
- Maintain proper documentation for work performed
- Follow verbal and written instructions
- Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 90lbs and be capable of performing physical labor
- Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment
- Must adhere to company safety policies and procedures and maintain a clean and safe work area
- Be mechanically inclined, have a positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly
- Be enrolled in AFSA Apprenticeship Program, maintaining all requirements of the Apprenticeship Standards. Provided by employer.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Construction background is a plus
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check
- Valid Driver’s License, and a dependable means of transportation to the employer’s place of business and/or jobsite.
- Be mechanically inclined, have a positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly and work well with others
- Be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the apprenticeship program, with or without a reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others

Junior Fire Sprinkler Designer – Full Time
Contractor Fire Protection is seeking key personnel to help us expand our thriving AZ Fire Protection operation. We are a growing, strong, full-service fire protection company, offering substantial room for growth, and upward mobility. This challenging position will require full involvement with fire sprinkler design; coordination, and possibly project manage the fire sprinkler systems installation for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
Responsibilities
- Design automatic fire sprinkler systems (wet, dry, foam, and fire pumps)
- Compile and prepare plan submittals (shop drawings) and material submittals for review by architects, engineers, clients, and authorities having jurisdiction
- Coordinate sprinkler design with existing structure and other MEP subcontractors
- Communicate with Sales, Estimating and other departments to optimize design efficiency for fabrication and installation of systems
- Perform hydraulic calculations for fire sprinkler systems
- Detail the design for fabrication and prepare installation drawings
- Prepare ‘as-built’ drawings for in-house archive and client files
- Other job duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- Preferred 2+ years of experience in Fire Sprinkler Design (on job or in-school)
- Ability to operate independently and autonomously
- Demonstrate a corresponding high sense of integrity
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills
- Associates/Bachelors/Diploma in Fire Protection Engineering OR an equivalent combination of HS education and related work experience preferred
- High level of self-discipline, motivation, and ability to operate in a team environment
